Wardak is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is considered one of the central provinces of Afghanistan. The center of Maidan Wardak province is Maidan Shahr. Wardak province has a common border with Bamyan, Ghazni, Parwan, Kabul and Logar provinces. Wardak has an area of 9023 square kilometers and a population of 660,258. Wardak has 8 districts which include Chaki Wardak, Day Mirdad, Hisa-I-Awali Bihsud, Jaghatu, Jalrez, Markazi Bihsud, Nirkh and Saydabad . Wardak residents speak in Dari and Pashto languages.
