Badghis is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is located in the northwest of Afghanistan. The capital of Badghis province is the city of Qala i Naw. Badghis with the provinces of Herat, Faryab and Ghor still shares a border with Turkmenistan. Badghis has an area of 20,590.6 square kilometers and a population of 549,583. Badghis has 6 districts, including Ab Kamari, Ghormach, Jawand, Muqur, Bala Murghab and Qadis. Almost all residents of Badghis province speak in Dari language.
