Jawzjan is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is located in the north of Afghanistan. The capital of Jawzjan province is Sheberghan city. Jawzjan has a common border with Balkh, Sarpol and Faryab provinces, as well as Turkmenistan. Jawzjan has an area of 11,798.3 square kilometers and a population of 602,082. Jawzjan has 10 districts, including Aqcha, Darzab, Fayzabad, Khamyab, Khaniqa, Khwaja Du Koh, Mardyan, Mingajik, Qarqin and Qush Tepa. Jawzjan residents speak in Uzbek, Dari, Turkmen and Pashto languages.
