Description

The Sakhi shrine is located at the foot of Mount Asmai in the Karte Sakhi area of Kabul city. There is a cemetery on the western and southern sides of this shrine, which contains the graves of a large number of people who died in the civil wars of Afghanistan.

Ziarat Sakhi was built by the order of Ahmad Shah Baba Abdali. When Ahmad Shah Baba ordered to transfer the blessed cloak of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) from Bukhara to Kandahar, the mentioned caravans stopped in Kabul in the current area (Ziyarat Sakhi).

Every year, on the first day of Nowruz, a flag is raised in this place in the name of Hazrat Ali, and a large number of people, both common people and high-ranking government officials, participate in this ceremony. The said flag will remain raised for 40 days.
