Description
The twin blue domes attributed to Hazrat Ali in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh province, are one of the famous religious and historical symbols of Afghanistan. This place, having a peaceful and pleasant environment, hosts many people from all over the country every year.
At the beginning of the new solar year, tens of thousands of Afghans from different cities of Afghanistan go to Mazar-e-Sharif and on the first day of the year, they gather next to the tomb of Imam Ali and hold the "Jahende Bala" ceremony.
Hazrat Ali shrine has 21 rooms, 8 entrance gates in the gardens of this shrine, and 5 entrance gates inside its courtyard. Its library was founded in 1365. The books found in it date back to the Bactrian and Kayanian, Seljuian, Tamiyaurian, and various Islamic periods, which are mostly written in handwriting.
There is also a primitive museum inside Roza Sharif, where some objects, supplies and goods obtained from the archaeological excavations of Balkh province and gifts from domestic and foreign authorities are kept.
