Kandahar is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is located in the south of the country. The capital of Kandahar province is Kandahar city. Kandahar shares borders with Helmand, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces and also with Pakistan. Kandahar has an area of 54844 square kilometers and a population of about 139955 people. Kandahar has 15 districts, which include Arghandab, Arghistan, Daman, Ghorak, Khakrez, Maruf, Maiwand, Miyanishin, Nesh, Panjwayi, Reg, Shah Wali Kot, Shorabak, Spin Boldak, Takhta-pul, Zhari and Dand. Kandahar residents speak in Pashto and Balochi languages.
