Faryab

Faryab is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is located in the north of the country. The capital of Faryab province is Maymana city. Faryab has a common border with the provinces of Badghis, Ghor, Sarpol, Jawzjan, and the country of Turkmenistan. Faryab has an area of 20,797.6 square kilometers and a population of 1,446,230 people. Jawzjan has 14 districts, which include Almar, Andkhoy, Bilchiragh, Dawlat Abad, Gurziwan, Khani Char Bagh, Khwaja Sabz Posh, Kohistan, Pashtun Kot, Qaramqol, Qaysar, Qurghan and Shirin Tagab.  Faryab residents speak in Uzbek, Dari and Pashto languages.
