Farah is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is located in the west of the country. The capital of Farah province is Farah city. Farah shares a border with the provinces of Herat, Nimroz, Helmand and Ghor and also with the country of Iran. Farah has an area of 484,709 square kilometers and a population of 925,016. Farah has 10 districts, which include Anar Dara, Bakwa, Bala Buluk, Gulistan, Khaki Safed, Lash Wa Juwayn, Pur Chaman, Pusht Rod, Qala-I-Kah and Shib Koh. Most of the people of Farah speak in Dari and Pashto languages.
