Daykundi is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. This province is located in the center of Afghanistan and is considered one of the central provinces of the country. The capital of Daikundi province is Nili city. Daikundi has a common border with Bamyan, Ghor, Ghazni, Uruzgan and Helmand provinces. Daikundi has an area of 180,188 square kilometers and a population of 723,980 people. Daikundi has 9 districts which include Gizab, Ishtarlay, Kijran, Khedir, Kitti, Miramor, Sangi Takht, Shahristan and Pato. Almost all residents of Daykundi speak in Dari.
