Description
Herat Great Mosque is the fifth largest mosque in the world. This mosque is more than 1400 years old and its area reaches 46760 square meters. This mosque was designed by Sultan Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad Ghori and reached its peak during the Timurids period. Currently, this mosque is the place where daily prayers, Friday prayers, Taraweeh prayers and other religious ceremonies of Herat people are held.
