Description
DarulAman Palace is one of the historical monuments of Afghanistan. This palace was built during the Kingdom of Ghazi Amanullah Khan in the southwest of Kabul city on a hill called "Afshar Tepe".
The construction of this palace began in 1925 and was completed two years later, in 1927. The entire process of the palace was done under the supervision of German engineers. It has 3 floors, 150 small and large rooms, 1 library and 32 toilets.
DarulAman Palace, like other historical monuments of Afghanistan, was completely destroyed and turned into ruins during the civil wars, but its reconstruction finally started in 2016 at a cost of 16 million dollars and ended in 2019. It was officially opened by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the 100th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence day.
