Description

Band Amir is a collection of 6 amazing deep lakes in the heart of Afghanistan. These lakes are located at the foot of the Hindu Kush mountain, the second-highest mountain range in the world, and 70 km from the ancient city of Bamyan.

Band Amir, with an altitude of nearly 3000 meters above sea level, is one of the highest lakes in the world. It has 6 lakes, the source of which is a well-known spring called "Kaperak", 14 km from this dam.

Lakes of Band Amir; They are called "Band Gholaman", "Band Zulfiqar", "Band Panir", "Band Qanbar", "Band Pudina" and "Band Haibat", which are surrounded by steep travertine stone walls.

The largest lake of Amir Band is Zulfiqar Band with 490 hectares and the smallest lake is Gholaman Band which is 800 meters long.

The most beautiful and deepest lake of Band Amir is called Hibet Band, which is more than 3 km long and 460 meters wide and is the third largest lake in terms of size.

The beautiful, unique, and heartwarming scenery, clear and transparent water, and the special nature of this area made Band Amir to be declared as the first national park in Afghanistan in 2009.

Band Amir is considered one of the natural wonders of Afghanistan. Every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.
